泳ぎに行こう - Let's go swimming

This is the season when it is too hot to do anything except sit in front of the air conditioner. However, there is one source of relief for us, poor, sweating, hot, people.

クーラーの前に座っている以外は、何をするにも暑くてかなわない季節になりました。しかし、金もなく、暑さでうだっている私たちに一つだけ気晴らしのもとがあります。

That is to go swimming. There are several swimming pools in the city. Some of them are private, some of them are public. For swimming, however, the best place for me is the Sea of Japan. It is so beautiful and clear that we can see all the way to the bottom in most areas, except when the waves are so high that it disturbs the bottom sand and then we can’t swim anyway.

それは泳ぎに行くことです。この町には、私設や公設のプールが何ヵ所かありますが、私が最も好きなのは日本海です。どこも水がきれいで透き通っているので、海の底まで見えます。もっとも、波が高くて砂底をかき回すときは別です。こんなときは、いずれにしても泳げません。

One of my favorite places is INAZUMI, near KITAURA. This place is really lovely and has many places for skin diving, picnicking, playing barbecuing, fishing and so on. It is even a very nice place to take pictures. I found it to be quiet and uncrowded with clear air and clear water. Then we can go to any of many other because which are perfect for any of the above mentioned activities.

私がよく行く所の一つは、北浦に近い稲積です。ここはとても素晴らしく、もぐったり、ピクニックやバーベキューを楽しんだり、魚を釣ったりといろいろな遊びができます。写真を撮るにも最適です。空気も水も澄み、しかも静かで人も多くありません。どの遊びをするにも格好の場所です。

The Sea of Japan is so impressive and attractive for the swimmer and the fisherman, that it is the place we all should go for our cooling-off activities in the summer. KONAMI, with its NAKAYOSHI KOEN, is also a lovely spot to take the family. Please enjoy your summer at the seashore in Sanin.

日本海は海水浴や魚釣りをするのに最高で、夏には納涼を求めて出掛けたくなります。仲良し公園のある小波も、家族を連れて行くには良い所です。この夏を山陰の海で楽しんでください。
